On June 27, Amalfi celebrates the traditional feast in honor of St. Andrew, patron of the city.
St. Andrew is the patron saint of fishermen and fishmongers.
This is because it is said that in 1544 Andrew prevented the Saracen pirate Kair-Ad-Din to take the city.

The breathtaking procession of members of various religious congregations that lead to the beach where the statue of the saint fishermen take over and the race leading to the Duomo climbing the famous steps.

The fireworks show that can be seen in the evening is wonderful with the fireworks that color with a thousand shades the Amalfi Coast.
